The Role

Due to department expansion we currently have an opportunity within our Automation, Telemetry and Control Department for an Automation and Control Engineer. The position will be to support a wide range of Automation and Telemetry products within our Clean and Waste Water functions within the South West Area of Wales between Bridgend and Aberystwyth. You will work closely with our Operational teams to undertake and deliver solutions to allow DCWW to provide a seamless 24/7 service to our customers.

Role requirements

We are looking for applicants who preferably have previous experience within a Process Control environment and must be educated to at least HNC level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

Applicants will have experience of PLC’S, HMI’s and SCADA systems and look to embrace new skills around the areas of Telemetry and Communications. Experience of the following disciplines would be desirable:

PLC systems - Siemens S7 and Mitsubishi.
SCADA systems - Wonderware and Siemens WinCC would be desirable.
Instrumentation – An understanding of Instrumentation predominantly in the areas of Pressure, Level and Flow.

Electrical – An understanding of electrical schematics.

Communications – Familiarity of plant wide communication systems such as Ethernet, Profibus and Modbus.

DCWW will provide an extensive training and support package for successful self-motivated individuals looking to enhance and develop their skills on the products utilised within the role.

Consideration will be given to a graduate who may have qualifications within electronics, electrical, instrumentation or computer systems engineering and would like to undertake a development role and progress in to a rewarding role as an Automation Engineer.
